Funkstitch

Why “Funkstitch”?

I get that a lot.

When I was first learning how to sew almost four years ago a lot of the things I made looked, frankly, kinda funky. I attribute it to not having enough sewing experience with the desire to make my own patterns or make use of the cheap old man flannel shirts available at thrift stores. Most of the time, it was a little bit of both scenarios. I was also engrossed with the Old Greg videos on YouTube that encompass lots of funkiness. Thus when my husband read about a mom making labels for clothes that she lovingly handmade for her children, I felt I needed to come up  with my own label. Funkstitch is the outcome and I haven’t been able to come up with something that I like better. I don’t really make any funky looking clothing anymore but I guess making your own clothing is funky in itself.
