Velo-Madness

Last night was so much fun at the Penrose Park Velodrome. Except that there were lots of worrying about whether or not the rain would stay and if the track would dry in time. I also had the wrong gear ratio on my bike and my flying-200M time was where it was at 2 months ago.

However, watching a match sprint tournament with some of the fastest people in Saint Louis made it all okay. (Especially when you are watching your friends get smoked or race each other.)

Even when I finished pretty much last place in almost every race that night.

Except for the chariot race, a one lap race from a standing start. That is my JAM!

Well, I’m off to work to ride my old cruiser because I lost my Allen key that I need to put the brake lever on my bike and I only ride brake-less on the track.

Bridge 2 Bridge Victory

I’ve been away for quite some time and I am not entirely sure why…. Yes, I’ve been busy with baking, job searching, training, sewing, motherhood, and basically life in general but I guess I’ve just been a little lazy with the whole blogging thing. Well, I am back and with lots of cool stuff to write about.

Today, though, you should know that this weekend I won first place ladies in the Bridge 2 Bridge race.

I didn’t even make up my mind to do the race until Friday afternoon and I wasn’t sure I would be able to do it thanks to not having a babysitter on call. Luckily, someone stepped up to the plate at the last minute (alright about an hour or two before we needed to head out) and we were able to do the race together.

Racing is fun, racing with your husband is even better (especially when he lets you draft him 98% of the time).

Anyways, I finished in the first half and had a blast and now think I might have finally caught that racing bug.

Chris Green took pictures and video and I am looking forward to seeing them.

I have to be off now, but enjoy the spring weather… FINALLY… and I will be back on here regularly
